Gent's Texas Scramble
Congratulations to Gary Johnstone, Jan Cichocki, Mike Davies and Tony Cooper for winning the Gent's Texas Scramble with a score of 57.4.
Archie Preston Knockout
An enthusiastic mixed team threw everything they had got at Davenport in the preliminary round of the Archie Preston.
Played away, on a lovely sunny afternoon, it wasn't looking too promising, with Davenport securing three early wins against Alderley's one, (thanks Mr Vice and Celia!). However, the tension mounted as Alderley managed to draw level to three matches all, and it fell on the last match to play to a result.
Ronnie and Julie Ricketts gallantly played down the nineteenth with a following crowd, but were eventually beaten by a spectacular lengthy curving putt from the opposition.
As ever, the match was played in a very social spirit, and despite the distraction of a football match (some sort of local derby?) the conversation flowed over the meal.
We wish Davenport well in the competition, and maybe next year we'll get a good run in this very enjoyable interclub competition!

K-Vest Level 2 Certification
Last week I attended the K-Vest Level 2 certification course and passed the test, so I am now level 2 certified!
I learnt a lot about how the body needs to move in the swing, adapting body movement to any physical limitations in the swing, and also how the hands and arms can affect the movement of the body during the swing.

How has Chris changed his swing?
Chris has come along to the studio for a couple of lessons in order to get his swing ready for the season. His main issue was that his ball was going very high and not as far as he would like.
After looking at the video analysis and K-Vest data, we could see that he was over rotating in the backswing. He was turning his shoulders 30 degrees further than required. This was in turn making it very difficult for him to get his hips and shoulders correctly rotating in the downswing causing his hands to take over.
As you can see in the picture below, first of all we shortened his backswing, which prevented the over swing.
This allowed him to rotate his hips and shoulders better in the downswing which has improved his impact position dramatically as you can see in the picture below.
If you would like to change your swing like Chris, we offer an introductory lesson for
£9.99 for all new customers.
