Congratulations to Mr Captain and Chris Chatfield for winning the pairs stableford with a score of 40 points in gusty but dry conditions. They were winners on count back from Andy Slater and Pete Burns. There were several scores in the 36-39 range.

Congratulations to Yvonne Grundy for winning the Ladies EWGA Medal with a nett 74. Helen Edwards and Olwen Davies came second and third respectively with nett 76's.

Well done to the Junior team for beating Sandiway in the Mid-Cheshire Junior League at Sandiway by a score of 3-1.

The key here is moisture; in damp conditions the ball just slides up a grooveless face, creating a spinless, hot flyer. Grooves, then, act like the tread on a tyre, dispersing moisture and allowing the face to grip the ball even when wet.
