How Can You Lower Your Scores Without Changing Your Swing?
Now is the time of year when the majority of you are starting to play the major competitions at your various clubs. As a result of this a common response I hear is, "I do not want to change my swing until the winter". This is totally understandable as sometimes swing changes can take a little time to become permanent changes.
If you are this person, why not try an 'On Course Lesson'? This is exactly what John Newsham did and he managed to shave two shots off his handicap and come second in the Hospital Trophy. The areas we looked at on the course were:
- Setup adjustments when playing from sloping lies
- Club selection for chipping and pitching
- Alignment
- Distance control on putting
Other areas that can be looked at are:
- Playing out of the rough
- Trouble shots - out of the trees
- Bunker shots
- Ball flight control
