How has Roy changed his swing?
Roy has been suffering from a bout of the shanks and it is great to see him win two weeks in a row! The main reason for Roy shanking the ball was a loss of posture throughout the swing.
As you can see in the 'before' picture, Roy's backside has moved forward by 3-4 inches in the downswing. As a result of this, his hands and club also have a tendency to move forward causing him to shank. If you look carefully at the clubface in this picture you can actually see it has twisted in his hands as he has hit the shot off the heel of the club.
As you can see in the 'after' picture, we have placed a golf bag behind Roy to help him with the sensation of maintaining his posture through the swing and you can see he is now keeping his backside touching the red line.
