Simister Cup 1st Round 

Congratulations to Bob Anderson for winning the Simister Cup 1st Round with a score of 39 Points. Michael Easton came second on count back. Bob's hard work has paid off this year, reducing his handicap from 14 to 10.


Ladies EWGA Medal 

Congratulations to Marion Hall for winning the EWGA Medal with a nett 70. Jean Walker came second with a nett 72. Well done to both of you for reducing your handicaps by a shot.


 

Can you improve your putting setup? 

This week I thought I would discuss putting setup. Commonly people who come for a putting lesson benefit from small changes to their setup. 

In Mike's case, he was struggling to get the putter swinging on a good arc and was seeing it wobble around during the backswing. Looking at the 'before' picture you can probably see that his eyes were not over the ball and the relationship between the shaft of the putter and his forearms was not correct.

   

As you can see in the 'after' picture, Mike's eyes are now over the ball and the shaft of the putter and his forearms are now in a straight line. This allows him to swing the putter on a good arc through rocking his shoulders, not having to rely on manipulating his hands through the shot.
