Wednesday 4th June - Seniors vs Ringway
Ladies Millenium Tropy - It was with great relief to find that the course had recovered after all the rain of last week and the first ladies' Major competition of the year was able to be played. Gwyneth Holt won with a tidy 37 points, second place to Celia Berent with 33.
Ladies Bell Cup - Well done to the team for beating Bramhall Park 4 matches to 3 at Bramhall Park. It was a very close game with Gwyn happily going down the 19th then the 20th not realising that the match rested on her result!
The Men's Am-Am Stableford had to be abandoned due to the torrential rain in the afternoon.
How has Gwyneth Holt changed her swing?
Gwyneth has been working hard on her swing over the past few months. She suffers from a tendency to lose her posture in the backswing as can be seen in the picture on the right. This leads to an 'over the top' swing causing a slice.
As you can see in the picture on the right, she is now maintaining her posture much better throughout the swing, which is helping her to swing down on a better play which is helping her to hit straighter shots.

U.S. Open Sweepstake - Pinehurst Resort #2 Course
It is that time of year again, we are running a sweepstake for the U.S. Open. It costs just £2 to enter - who is going to win this year? Rory Mcilroy is certainly making a lot of birdies, but is he playing consistently enough to win his second U.S. Open? To enter please come into the shop to pick your squares.
Come and play Pinehurst #2 on the Simulator!
Want to acquaint yourself with the U.S Open course? Come and play it on our simulator in the next few weeks. Jack Nicklaus said "I've always thought Pinehurst No.2 to be my favorite golf course from a design standpoint. I've enjoyed going out on No. 2 and seeing a totally tree-lined golf course without a tree coming into play." Can you manage to stay out of the trees on this course? It costs £8 per hour for members, and £15 for non-members. This cost can be split between up to four players. To book please call 01625 586200 (option 2).
Has anyone got any space for a lodger? This summer I have a third member of staff coming to work in the shop. Ross Davis is currently a second year student on the Applied Golf Management Studies degree at the University of Birmingham. Ross currently plays off a handicap of 5. He is looking for somewhere to stay from June 17th until the middle of August. If you can help or you know someone who can, please contact me by clicking here or call me on 01625 586200 (option 2).
