We'd like to start this week's newsletter by firstly wishing you a Happy New Year, and secondly by asking you a question:

It's an age-old tradition but we're wondering how many of you made a New Year's resolution for 2017?

Don't worry, we're not going to ask you to tell us what it is, but if yours is golf related then remember we're here to help. Regardless of whether you won multiple competitions in 2016 or didn't see your handicap come down once, we'd all like to have a better year on the course in 2017.

With this in mind, don't settle for doing the same again this year as we have lots of ways to help you to enjoy better golf. From a series of lessons to custom fitted equipment to some simple course management tips, come and speak to the team so we can identify areas of your game where you can improve.

Competition Results

Congratulations to Mr Captain and Brian Jones for winning divisions one and two of the Pro's Saturday Competition with scores of 18 and 21 points respectively. 

Captain's Drive In 

Sunday, 1 January and the traditional Captain's Drive In took place which was really well supported by the members and their families - thank you. Mr. Captain drove an incredible 253 yards and also scooped the pot for guessing closet to where the Junior Captain - Sam Short drove at an equally respectable 243 yards. 

Much respect to Lady Captain who drove 91 yards which meant Mr. President took the money. 

Well done to Andy Holt who was also a winner on the day. Thanks to our Steward for laying on hot beef barms and for the organisers of the 250 club draw which was won this time by the Grundy's.
