Unfortunately due to fog this had to be rearranged for the Saturday, 21 January.
Winter League
Last Sunday the Captain and I took on Zak Penney and Mike Blundell. When Zak started with a 4 nett 3 on the first and a 4 on the second we knew we were going to have a hard game! We managed to reel them in and were two up with two to play. Mike won the 17th and had a 10 foot putt to halve the match which just missed. Thanks for the game, it was very enjoyable.
Next week we are taking on the inform Tom Troup and Brian Pennington.
Team Wood/Featherstone/Broughton/Yakub are still top of the table, two points ahead of the Captain and I, but with only two games to go we are running out of time to catch them!
Ladies Group Coaching - Starts Thursday, 19 January
For those of you who have not attended the group lessons before, they run most Thursday mornings and Saturday afternoons with between 3 and 6 in each group. We have a lot of fun whilst learning the basics of the game at the same time.
I am planning to start my next course of lessons in a couple of weeks, the dates and times are below. The cost is £7.50 per session per person. How has Martin Changed his Swing?
Martin has been working hard on his swing recently. He is blessed with a lot of power, but can be inconsistent with the direction of his shots. As you can see in the 'before' picture the angle of the club shaft in the downswing is steeper than we would like. This caused an out-to-in club path and leads to slices and pulls.
After working on a few drills, we managed to get Martin swinging on a flatter plane which has helped him to get an in-to-out club path which has made it possible for him to hit a draw.
