Women's Group Lessons - Starting in March - Spaces Filling up Fast!
For those of you who have not attended the group lessons before, they run most Thursday mornings and Saturday afternoons with between three and six in each group. We have a lot of fun whilst learning the basics of the game at the same time. The cost is £7.50 per session per person. If you would like to put your name down for any of the sessions, please reply to this email. There are limited spaces available and places will be given on a first come first served basis. How Has Nick Changed His Swing?
Nick has been working hard on his game over the past few months. He has been suffering with some inconsistent ball striking, mainly striking the ground before the ball. He also has a tendency to lose shots to the left of the target.
We carried out some initial analysis using the K-Vest and video and discovered Nick was not using his lower body efficiently. He was leaving his weight on his back foot (see 'before' picture) and had a peak hip speed of only 342 degrees per second.
We used the K-Vest dynamic visual training exercises to give Nick a feel of how much he needed to be rotating in the downswing. As you can see in the 'after' picture, Nick is now transferring his weight onto the left foot in the downswing and as the K-Vest data shows, he is now moving his hips at 400 degrees per second, an improvement of 58 degrees per second.
The combination of these two things is allowing Nick to now strike the ground after the ball. The faster hip rotation has also allowed him to keep his clubface open through impact leading to fewer shots to the left.
