Singles Stableford and PGA National Pro-Am Qualifier
This year I have entered the club into the PGA National Pro-Am. The winner of this event qualifies to play with me in the Pro-Am regional final at Sandiway. Ian Pearce was the leader in the clubhouse for nearly the whole day with 40 points before Steve Bennett came in with 41 points in the last group. I look forward to playing with you at Sandiway on 27th June Steve!
Also a special mention to Dan Featherstone who managed a hole in one on the 8th hole.

Curing your slice with your driver - How has Spencer changed his swing?
Spencer has been working hard on his swing over the winter and is now seeing the results. Many of you will be in the same boat as Spencer, managing to hit a straight/draw ball flight with irons but slicing the driver or hitting it inconsistently.
Before
In Spencer's case his slice and inconsistency was caused by the position at the top of his swing. As you can see from the 'before' picture, his left hip has dropped a long way below his right (19 degrees - also known as a reverse pivot). As a consequence of this his spine also leans towards the target making his club go back too far. From this position it is virtually impossible to get the club on plane in the downswing.
After
As you can see in the 'after' picture, Spencer is now getting in a much more efficient position at the top. His left hip is staying higher (only 4 degrees below the right), and his spine is now leaning away from the target. This position makes it difficult to over swing making it easier to optimise power and efficiency.
