Gents Invitation Day

The winner of the member / guest pairings was Mike Davies and his partner Nick Turner with 42 points, with Mike Easton / A Morris second on 40 and Keith Doyle / S Smith third on 38. 

A keenly fought member / member first prize was won by Matthew Hodgson / Paul Mason on a card playoff with 45 points, edging out Ian Pearce / Ben Gaunt into second place. Pete Burns / Simon Barber (Vice Captain) came third on 44 points, with Gerald Tatlock / Paul Ellis being nudged into fourth with 44 points on another card playoff.


Ladies Midsummer Madness

The Early Birds really did catch the worm this morning, Friday, 23 June as 12 ladies teed off at 7.30am for their annual "MIDSUMMER MADNESS!" 

A nine hole AmAm, won by the Lady Captain's team with 45 points, rounded off by a delicious Bucks-Fizz breakfast in the club house. 

A bubbly event from start to finish!


 

PGA National Pro Am

Some of you may remember I held a qualifying event for this competition a couple of months ago. Steve Bennett won the competition and as a result played with me in this Pro Am, which was played on Tuesday. We teed off at 7.50am and it rained for the majority of the round! 

Steve and I both started really well, after 11 holes Steve had had three birdies and I had four leaving us at 6 under par, unfortunately we could not keep up with that standard of scoring and finished the round on 6 under which gave us the clubhouse lead for the early starters. We ended up finishing in third place.

Steve, you were a pleasure to play with, keep playing like you did and you will not be off 20 for long! I now have a month until my next tournament, the PGA North Region Championship. Hopefully enough time to try and improve a couple of areas of my game.
