The AEGC junior winter coaching sessions are now up and running, with only 2 available spaces left on Saturday mornings please contact the Professional Shop to reserve your child's place on 01625 586200 (Option 2), or click here to get in touch. The 1 hour sessions run from 11am-12pm every week until Christmas 2014 and costs £5 per child.

The sessions will take place every Saturday over the coming months, so it will be great to see you!

Saturday Competitions Through The Winter

The Gent's Golf Committee have given me permission to run a 9 hole stableford competition every Saturday through the winter (Excluding Simister Cup Competitions). The entry fee will be £3 including 2's and all of the competition entry fees will go straight back into the prizes.

There will be two divisions; 14 handicap and below and 15 and above. Prizes will be awarded at the Simister Cup presentations on the first Saturday of each month.

All you have to do to enter is book a tee time on BRS by clicking here or call us in the shop and we can help you to find a playing partner or a time.

How has Mark Engels changed his swing?

Mark has been working hard at his swing over the past few months and below is some information about one of the areas he has been working on. On the left hand side you will see how his posture has changed (in particular the angles of his legs) as he has swung the club back. This is a very common fault and leads to compensations having to be made in the downswing.

   

On the right hand side you will see how he has maintained the same posture throughout the backswing which now allows him to get the club travelling down on the same line that is has gone up on. One of the swing thoughts he has been using is the feeling of keeping his backside in contact with a wall.
