Winter League On a wet Sunday morning the Winter League went ahead, the Vice Captain and I were taking on Gary Olson and Neil McGuinness. For the second week in a row I lost my ball in the leaves down the first (Thank you Paul Gosling for finding the ball and returning it!) and we went one down. I eagled the second before Neil and Gary sent a birdie barrage in our direction with birdies on 4, 5 and 6 to go three down! Bob and I then gave them a taste of their own medicine with birdies on 9, 10, 11 and 12 to get it back to all square. Bob and Gary then moved back ahead with birdies on 13 and 14 to leave us 2 down with 3 to play. The stroke indices on the last three holes suited us as I managed to birdie 16 and Bob made a nett eagle on the last to halve the match! It is always fun to play in matches with so many birdies flying around so hopefully they continue throughout the winter. Next week we are taking on table toppers Gosling/Dibble/Johnson/Brandon so we expect a tough game.
