New members At the time of writing (Monday evening) we have had 94 new members since coming off lockdown. Yes, 94! As a club this now takes us to 445 combining all categories. It has been great seeing the enthusiasm of everyone following such a bad winter. I am pretty good at remembering peoples names usually but 94 new names in the space of nine days might be a stretch so forgive me if I forget your name!
I would love to think that many of our new trial members will enjoy the club so much that they will want to re-join after three months, hopefully giving us some funds to improve the course for the winter months. Please make them feel welcome and introduce yourself (from over two metres away) if you do not recognise them. Please also note that you are able to add your names to other people's bookings on BRS, we would like to maximise the use of the course so please do not be afraid to add your name to someone else's booking. If there is a reason why you want to play alone, please simply put 'guest' in the second column.
Hole-in-one alert! I am pleased to announce that we have had our first hole-in-one since lockdown. Not surprisingly it is from the man who has played more golf than anyone else – Roy Parker! It occurred on the 8th hole on Monday, Mike Magee informed me that he ‘cut in a 3-wood’ – can anyone confirm if Roy has every done anything apart from hit a cut? Mike unsurprisingly was also the first to suggest that Roy should get hit round of drinks in once the bar re-opens – I will inform you all of Roy’s first tee time once the bar opens!
The safe way to buy ladies clothing We are fully aware that now is a very difficult time to browse our range of ladies clothing in the shop so Sarah has been busy over the last few days creating a website where you can view our full range online.
Please click here to view the website.
We have created a safe and simple way for you to try any of the items on this site: - Email me at professional@aegc.co.uk requesting to try any items you like
- We will put these in a bag, sanitise the bag and give to you from the door of the shop
- You can take these items home to try
- Return anything you do not like and pay for anything you like at the door of the shop or over the phone
- We will leave them in the bag for at least 24 hours before putting them back on display to avoid the risk of contamination
Please note that if we do not have your size in a certain item the chances are we will be able to order it in so please do not hesitate to ask. If you have any questions, please reply to this email.
Non-essential retail put back to 15th June – Do you want a club fitting? Boris announced on Monday that all being well, non-essential retail will be back open on 15th June. My shop and studio are classed in this bracket. If you are interested in purchasing any new clubs, please do not forget that we offer a free, no obligation club fitting service. Once we are able to re-open the studio I will be able to start with club fitting sessions, so if you would like me to add you to my list of people to contact once we can open, please reply to this email.
