Golf Conditioning Zoom Webinar – Coming Soon!

With no golf over the next few weeks, golf conditioning expert Olivia Brewster and I have decided to run an online webinar looking at the area of golf conditioning. This is by far the best thing you can do to improve your game without hitting a ball.

What will you gain from the first session?

A better understanding of how your body affects your golf swing
A few simple exercises to help you with certain moves in the golf swing
This session is designed for the average club golfer so don’t worry about what you can or can’t do!

Have you joined the 250 club?

At present, we have almost 100 members of the 250 Club. Nevertheless, we are always looking for more people to join as every contribution goes a long way to supporting the Club. Each number costs only £5 per month, paid via monthly direct debit or standing order; If you would like to join please ask me for a copy of the application form, either on my mobile or via the button below.

We have four draws a year (roughly one every 3 months), with half of all proceeds going towards Club funds and the other half shared out in prizes. If 100 members all pay £15 over 3 months, it would give us £1,500 in the pot for the next draw. £750 of this would go towards Club funds whilst the rest is split between the four winners.

Lockers – A few more now available

With all of this time on my hands, Tony Adderley and I have done a full reconciliation of the lockers. There were a few lockers still in the names of ex-members which are now free for use. If you would like to reserve one for re-opening please let me know.

The cost is £25 for the year which is incredible value compared to most clubs!

Success at the final hurdle

Chris Kirk showed us how golf is more than just a sport at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

The multiple-time winner had to walk away from a successful golf career in 2019 due to mental health struggles and alcoholism, getting himself on the road to recovery. The PGA Tour gave him a chance to regain his full status over a limited number of events, culminating at the Sony Open, where he needed at least a two-way tie for third to secure his card for the 2021 season.

Well, an outstanding birdie on the 72nd hole left him in a two-way tie for second for one of the most heart-warming comeback stories imaginable. Not only that but it's also a great example of making sure you keep going right until the very last hole.
