Congratulations to the ladies Mail On Sunday team for beating Bramhall Park in the third round. I am pleased to say that the club are still in every knockout competition!

Congratulations to Kath Goodall for winning the ladies strokeplay and flag qualifier with a nett 67. Lady Captain Anne Thornber came second with a nett 73.

Mike Fox and Ian Pearce continued their good form by winning the Gent's Fourball Betterball stableford on Saturday with a score of 43 points. Well done to you both!

How has Mike Fox cured his slice and added 30 yards?

Mike has been working hard at his game this year and is seeing the benefits. When Mike first came for a lesson with me last year we identified his lack of distance being caused by his left to right ball flight as the main part of his game we needed to improve.

As you can see in the pictures below, Mike had a cupped left wrist at the top of the swing which was causing his clubface to be in a very open position. For this reason, Mike's natural reaction in the down swing was to swing 'over the top' causing a slice.
