77 members, including 9 Vice Presidents, contested this trophy in mostly wet conditions. Congratulations to Mark Engels, who won with a score of 64 playing off 8. Second was Joe (not Steve!) Jakub on 67, nudging Steve Ridal into third on a card playoff.

The prize for the best VP's score went to Keith Cooney who carded a very creditable 68 for fifth place overall, with Paul Penney the second best VP on the same score (and 7th overall).



How Mel Improved Her Putting 

Mel recently came for a putting lesson as she had been struggling to hole putts. After seeing her setup, I immediately knew that was where the problems started. Firstly her eyes were not over the ball which was affecting her alignment, by getting the eyes in the right position, it makes it a lot easier to see the correct line. 

Secondly, the shaft of the putter and her forearms were at very different angles; this was leading to her trying to manipulate the putter through the stroke. As you can see in the picture on the right they are now in a straight line and her elbows are well connected to her body.
