Closing Sides - A great day had by all!

This is a biennial event which marks the opening and closing of the golf season where a team represents the Captain and another team represents the president. This is followed by a meal and a number of drinks in the evening! 

We were very lucky with the weather on Saturday for Closing Sides, some heavy rain overnight closed some other local courses but despite it being soft in places the greens were excellent.

Ed Lawton and I took on Harrison Peck (the new Vice Captain elect) and Drew Roberts. I reluctantly gave them all shots despite being the old man of the group and the shortest hitter!

The integrity of the handicap system was upheld with the match ending in a half with Ed holing a crucial 4 footer on the last.

Overall the Captain's team were victorious by a sizable margin which I can't remember! Everyone had a great time in the evening and it made it even more special to see so many new members attending for the first time.
